Due to overpopulation and increased government aid, the Lifemate law was passed. This forced all citizens to be placed in the matching system. If you are deemed a quality citizen in the government’s eyes then you were able to be matched with a lifemate. This gave those citizens the life of luxury in a gated community with beautiful cookie cutter homes. If you are deemed unmatchable, then you are forced to live in The Hooch and work the most undesirable jobs. Families were separated and children were displaced.
Twelve years after passing the law, two newly of age adults go through the matching system while anxious about the accuracy of the matching system. Finding that the system is as flawless as the government claims, their journey starts. All while lifemates are getting attacked and killed within the gated lifemate community.
How could there be such things happening when the system isn’t flawed?
