I've always loved to write. I started with short stories at 10, then on to poetry in high school. Life happened - I took a detour into being a single mom of 4 Awesome kids & went into nursing. I would find myself sharing pieces of my life here & there with patients, to give them that sense that I saw them as people, not a diagnosis. A lot of people I've shared stories of my life with told me I should write a book. I would just laugh & throw in a "yeah, ok". A few random verses ran through my head last year while I was with a patient, I jotted them down, added to it and with great fear asked one of the Pediatricians to read it and tell me what she thought. She thought it was "amazing", I was shocked. I kept writing, she kept encouraging me and bought me a journal for Christmas. I tossed it around in my head - and here I am. I'm currently working on my auto biography. Again, encouraged by others. I hope it brings hope to people, that no matter what the odds are - you can succeed!
