The Walpole Writers Group has been meeting on Tuesday nights at the Barnes & Noble bookstore in Walpole, Massachusetts, for more than five years. Members of all ages and from all walks of life share their writing, suggestions, and encouragement. All genres of writing – including poetry, novels, short stories, memoirs, historical fiction, essays, non-fiction articles, and even tax advice handouts – appear at the meetings, which makes for an exciting and unpredictable mix each week. Surrounded by published books, the writers strive to write better, get published, and help each other. The contributions to this volume are typical of what members read each week.
