Even the horrors of war can produce some of the funniest of circumstances. The two-book combination has "Humorous Incidents of the Civil War," by A. C. McLeary - a humorous take on the War Between the States - and the second work, "The Camp Jester," was published in 1864 for the benefit of the soldiers in camp. Both are full of humorous anecdotes and jokes from the period.
