On the Edge of Twilight

The author was ten years old when America entered WWII and remembers the Home Front very well. Common opinions through the war were a victorious and nearly bloodless war by the American armed forces. Actually, we could have lost the war to the Nazis if the futuristic weapons in existence in 1944 had been unleashed. Time,precious time ran out on the Nazis. Had the Normandy invasion failed because of weather in the English Channel the Nazis would have found the time to use the new push button warfare. The allies gambled on a weather forecast that there would be a 48 hour window of good weather. This story is a what if novel of a far different war had the invasion failed dure to extreme weather conditions entering the English Channel as the troops were beginning to go to the Normandy beaches. Mjaor Mike Canyon is on the SHAEF staff and lives through the perils of 1944.
