Pop Weekly was a new concept in the pop press. It was the first magazine to combine up-to-the-minute news reports, articles on all of the most popular artists and groups of the day together with fabulous shots of the stars.
Most of the photos were exclusive to the magazine and they were not reproduced elsewhere.
Pop Weekly also attempted a serious, considered tone which set it aside from its competitors in the music press.
The first issue of the Pop Weekly was published on 1st September 1962 and this first series ran until 24th August 1963
The second series ran from 31st August 1963 until 22nd August 1964.
The third series ran from 29th August 1964 until 21 August 1965.
The contents contained in this book are from the personal collection of a life long fan.
Rather than the articles and photos never being seen again, compiling these has been a labour of love so that other Beatles fans; researchers and music historians can look back and see how The Beatles were actually reported back in the 1960's. Nothing is paraphrased or altered. You are seeing the articles as they appeared.
Perfect for any Beatles fan!
