Noise of the Market

ByAdebukola Ayodele-Alamu

Noise of the Market is a melodramatic work of fiction. This story and its characters and entities are entirely FICTIONAL. This is an historical tale, dating back to as far as the 60’s. It is the chronicles of three generations of women, who at different times pursued different paths yet, simultaneously suffered the same fate as a wife and a mother. Set in the heart of Lagos Metropolis in Nigeria, this creative writing is centered on a naive teenager, Nifemi Adeniji, who became a helpless lover, a devoted partner and a dispassionate mother. Her journey takes her through incomplete education which leaves her at the mercy of matrimony at an early age. Yet, in the midst of her naivety and life's confusion, Nifemi lost herself to pleasurable distractions.
