Born in Quebec in 1909, Alberta "Bertha" Chaput moved with her family to Vonda, Saskatchewan at a young age.
Later, she married her neighbour Frank Chaput and moved to Southern Ontario, where she lived for the rest of her life.
Throughout her memoir, Bertha recounts nearly a century of Canadian history as she remembers the people and places she has known.
