Seated Liberty: San Luis Potosi State Copper

The seated liberty figure used in San Luis Potosí state copper coinage is gorgeous when seen in rare uncirculated detail. From the robe with stars on it to the elaborate indigenous head dress, there are diverse elements unique to Mexico that add depth to the originally European based symbology. These coins supported every day commerce and saw very high use. Wear and digs on these coins lead to many different interpretations of what constitutes a new variety.
