Wishing Life Away is for anyone who realized they spent the majority of their lives waiting for something, anything, to happen and change them for the better. I've spent many years stuck in place, dwelling on old feelings and relationships. You don't tend to realize just how much time you've wasted standing still, until you look back and see how far the rest of the world has moved. Many of these poems were written while I was locked in place, desperately trying to write about my emotions in the hope it would help them pass; taking the smallest steps forward with each line written. Although heartbreak and loss can make the world feel like it's ending, it doesn't. Even when the world feels like it's running, learn to move with it. Time allows for healing, and hopefully eventual repair. However, don't feel too guilty if you stand and wait, for just a moment too long.
