Excerpts from Rays of Light: 1850 – 1890

Rays of Light or Zahrire d’Bahra was the first Assyrian language periodical and the first periodical published by any community in Iran. The paper was started by the American Mission in 1849 and continued to be published until the closing of the mission in Urmia in 1918. “Excerpts from Rays of Light” was published by the American Mission in Urmia in 1895. The book provides selections from the periodical from the beginning until 1890. The editors of this collection were Shamasha Khnanisho Auraham and Rabi Shmouel Badal. This book is entirely in the Assyrian language.
