The Jury's Out

Through no fault of his own, the author of this book has been involved in the most unreal set of circumstances engendered by various local and government agencies' negligence, on a scale you would find hard to believe. So unreal have these scenarios been that he was prompted to write this book; a scathing indictment of our "public" services from police to home office and everyone, in-between and also a forensic critique of the "justice" system, literally from the inside out. It illustrates how the erosion of our rights to a jury is the single greatest obstruction to a true democracy, using personal experiences drawn from over a decade. With campaigns for the right to have jury trials running on Avaaz.org, Change.org and 38Degrees.org.uk, the author seeks to restore the right for all of us to be tried in any civil or criminal court by a jury of our peers rather than a single judge or magistrate if we so request.
