I suppose you could say that I was born to travel and born to roam, because for me, travel, especially foreign travel, is pure joy!
I was born in Belgium; lived in New York City and Montreal, Canada; and traveled a lot—mostly to Europe, as well as to Asia, and I like traveling on my own, rather than with a group. Groups may be fine for some, for me they are too superficial in their coverage, and don’t give you the chance to interact with locals.
Yes, I do speak more than one language, but the language barrier that is often mentioned by those who fear to travel on their own is not a big as its reputation. I arm myself with a few tips and tricks, and then go on my way. And, my philosophy is that anyone willing to do the same can do it too, and enjoy travel as much as I do!
