PAIRADICE

Michael Dorris’ Rayona, from the novel entitled Yellow Raft in Blue Water, remains one of the only novel portrayals of Black Indian characters. Ama walks a similar path. Drawing inspiration, degradation, pride and prejudice from two rich cultures, Ama lives and learns. The main character of Pairadice takes up Rayona’s plight and allows her own story to be heard.
