Proceedings of the First Digital Naturalism Conference
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This book contains the collected publications of participants from the first Digital Naturalism Conference held in Koh Lon, Thailand in the year 2561.
The Digital Naturalism Conference (dinacon) was an experiment by researchers Andrew Quitmeyer and Tasneem Khan. This experimental "unconference" sought to bring together researchers from field biology, art, design, and engineering. The goal is to find new ways of openly exploring our natural world. Over the course of 6 weeks on a semi-remote island we lived and worked together developing new technologies, arts, and practices. The conference was also designed to experiment with ways of addressing the problematic and debilitating practices of contemporary academic conferences and publications such as exclusionary costs and paywalled publications.
