Górecki, Penderecki. Diptych

This book presents two essays about classical music by Andrzej Wendland, about the Tristan Preludes composed by Henryk Mikolaj Gorecki, and about Krzysztof Penderecki's Symphony no. 8. The essays draw from a rich background of poetry, philosophy, and aesthetics and are informed by the author's close relationship with both Polish composers. Wendland is also the author of a study of Gorecki's Fourth Symphony published in "Gorecki in Context: Essays on Music" (2017). A bilingual paperback with translation by Maja Trochimczyk appeared in Poland in 2018.
