An Urban Fairytale

TEASER: My life hasn’t been a bed of roses, with silver spoons and mommy to bandage scrapped knees. It’s been hell. But that’s the life we live in the ghetto, me and thousands like me. Ironically, I was in no real hurry to leave the nest, it wasn’t all that, but it was all I knew. But one single event would change me forever, almost breaking my spirit and will to survive, but I would emerge different, stronger, harder. In a matter of months, I went from a door mat and punching bag to that chick to be....complete with all the drama that goes with the territory. I had the opportunity to ball or fall, the question was would I come out on top or be another casualty of the streets like so many before me. Would the easy money and fast lifestyle be my downfall as well? The cards were already stacked against me but I wasn’t sweatin’ the little things cuz trust and believe I was gonna make it do what it do.
