A memoir from an 81 year old's perspective of growing up in the World War 2 Era in Cambridge, England. Being born before the war and the effects it had on me as I remember the bombings, life during the war and after the war. Seeing childhood through my eyes and the events of the war. Trying to figure out 'normal' during and after a terrible time for everyone. Having gas masks at hand, hearing the bombs being dropped and seeing the destruction after. Everyone pulling together during a terrible tragedy. But life does go on. Playing with your mates, going to movies and the market again. Most of all remembering passing the steel caskets laid out of all the soldiers who had lost their lives. All lined up in a row on a hill. Madingley Hill. This final resting place of American soldiers is later to be known as the Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial.
