ByBen TrachtenbergAnne Alexander

Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This Casebook is designed for the “investigations” criminal procedure class taught at law schools. It focuses on the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments to the Constitution of the United States. Fourth Amendment topics include definitions of “search” and “seizure,” probable cause, warrants, exceptions to the warrant requirement, stop & frisk, and arrests. Moving to interrogations, the book covers due process and the voluntariness requirement, the Miranda Rule, and the Massiah doctrine. Next the book covers the exclusionary rule, including doctrines about standing and exceptions. Other chapters cover the right to counsel (including ineffective assistance and self-representation) and witness identifications. Due to page limitation of printing this is Volume 1 of 2. Please check with your professor as you likely will need both volumes for your course. The digital version of this book as a single volume is available for free at http://elangdell.cali.org. This print version is provided by CALI eLangdell Press at no markup. You are simply paying for the cost of Lulu's services.
