China Through Photographs: North and Northeast

This book exhibits hundreds of images from a trip-of-a-lifetime in China's North. The journey begins near Beijing, in Chengde, Pingyao, Datong and Qinhuangdao. It continues north-east to Shenyang, the largest city of the Northeast, to beachside Dalian, and then several sites in the Dandong region - including the easternmost section of the Great Wall with panoramic views into North Korea and two stunning hikeable mountains. Finally, to Chiang Bai Shan (Ever White Mountain), topped by a beautiful crater lake and finally Russian-influenced Harbin, for the annual Ice and Snow Festival. Everything from architecture, scenery and tourist sites to food, people and shopping is displayed through hundreds of gorgeous photographs, captured on a basic point-and-shoot digital camera, just as you'd see them if you were walking around yourself - absolutely no editing, filters, special lenses.
