THE MINISTRY OF THE SPIRIT

There seems to be an obvious and very shameful ignorance about the existence, the personality, and the ministry of the Holy Spirit in the body of Christ today. The shocking statement coming from the Ephesian brethren in Acts chapter 19 goes to show the sorry treatment given to the blessed third Person of the Trinity. “Have ye received the Holy Spirit, since ye believed? They answered and said to him: If there be a Holy Spirit, it hath not come to our hearing.” (Acts 19:2 – Murdock). The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity and has always been an active partaker of divine acts from the time of creation. The Spirit of God is not just a force or an “it”; he is a “Person” with a personality of his own. Much as the Father and the Son are Persons, the Holy Spirit is also a Person with a divine personality. The Father is the Operator in heaven: He has the responsibility. The Son is the Administrator: He is concerned with ministry. The Holy Spirit is the Manifestation: He brings the activity of heaven to our lives. The Spirit with his own unique personality causes the Father and the Son to be made real in our lives. It is obvious that we are presently in the dispensation of the Holy Ghost. He is the ultimate manifestation of everything God has to offer humanity. If we ignore him, we do so to our own detriment; for without him, we can do nothing!
