Terms and Conditions: The Story of a King follows the life of a 19-year-old Arab-American young man named King, who has just graduated high school. King is non-binary and openly gay but keeps this part of his identity private from his traditional, Christian family, except for his younger siblings, who accept him but aren't ready to share his identity with their parents and grandfather. As the eldest child, King feels a deep sense of responsibility for his family, which complicates his personal life. King’s life takes a positive turn when he gets his first job in upper management at a smoothie store called T.O.P.S. He’s excited about the new opportunity and enjoys his job, even though he’s faced with a complicated romantic past. He previously dated a boy from high school, who was into rap music and the popular culture of Meg Thee Stallion and Sexy Red. Now, he’s dating an older man, Georgia Boy, whom he met online. Georgia Boy is a traveling electrician who works from Georgia to Florida and frequently travels for his job. During a movie date, Georgia Boy asks King to move to Georgia and come out to his family, but King isn't ready for such a big step. A few weeks later, Georgia Boy informs King that he’s met a new, younger guy named Ruben and plans to move in with him, leaving King confused and feeling rejected. This sets the stage for King to wrestle with his emotions, his identity, and the choices he's made in his relationships.
