Abstract:
Increase in car use has many negative effects on, for example the accessibility of cities and the environment. To ensure a sustainable grow of the economy in the future the government needs to take extensive measures. Social marketing can be helpful in promoting more sustainable transportation systems. Switching to more sustainable transportation implies that people will have to change their travel behaviour. Social marketing is used to reach a behavioral change within a target group with the aid of commercial marketing strategies this could be helpful with introducing sustainable transportation objects or systems to the public.
