Let Go of the Wagon and Move On

The curtain came down, and life, as I knew it was over. Within three years, I was diagnosed with cancer, endured intensive treatment, and was forced to retire prematurely from a profession I loved. My mother passed away, leaving an indescribable emptiness in my soul, and my marriage of over thirty years ended with a painful divorce. The impact of these events was heightened when I walked away from my family home. I became estranged from my adult children and was left to determine how to build a bridge that would help me cross over emotional, psychological, and physical stress. Participating in weekly Christian-based reminded me that my refuge was in Jesus Christ and that only the Holy Spirit could help me navigate the tsunamis that turned my wagon [my life] upside-down.
