The Adventure of the Golden Pince-Nez

This story takes place in November 1894 (after the return of Sherlock Holmes, in April), and is explained while Dr. Watson reviews his file of the detective’s cases of that year, concluding that this is one of the most interesting. It should be noted that this investigation was very complicated from the beginning, and passed through several hands. It was first assigned to the police, then to the detective Stanley Hopkins, and finally to Sherlock Holmes. In a country house, a secretary, who lives there, is murdered in the study where he worked, appearing strange glasses in one of his hands. Before passing away, he says: “professor” and “it was she”. The other people are the professor and owner of the residence, an elderly and disabled man, the housekeeper, the maid, and a gardener, who lives in a small cabin outside the house. None of them are suspects, and the clever detective Stanley Hopkins is frustrated that he can´t figure out what happened.
