"He was running, Watson - running desperately, running for his life, running until he burst his heart - and fell dead upon his face."
"Running from what?"
In what is considered the finest of the novels concerning Sherlock Holmes the great detective is called upon to solve the case of the death of Sir Charles Baskerville. Was he a victim of the family curse? The footprints of a giant hound surrounding his body upon the Devon moorland would certainly indicate that. The Hound Of The Baskervilles has gripped readers young and old alike in the hundred years since it was first serialised.
The Hound of the Baskervilles was first published in The Strand Magazine between August 1901 and April 1902.
