“So the heavenly bodies necessarily teach their meaning
[significatio] by the power placed in them by God and so one can
infer that there are causes which signify. Nor does this in any
way detract from divine omnipotence or liberty which are tied
to secondary causes. Although God is a perfect and free agent,
unrestricted by any natural law, yet he did not want to pervert the
order of nature that he set up. And although God could have done
everything without intermediaries… yet he was pleased by his
inscrutable wisdom that all these things that normally happen in
the world come from Him through means.” -Tycho Brahe (TBOO,
I, p. 154 )
The concept of the stars having an effect on us is no different to
the other elements in nature such as fire, air and water. You can
use fire to cook your food or fire could be used to burn someone to
death as was seen in the book of Daniel when YHWH saved him
from the natural element that is fire - YHWH is the creator, so of
course He can override the effects of something He created.
However, if you were to accidently touch the stove as you cook
dinner, I can assure you that you would be burned. So again:
fire can cook your food and be used to keep you warm but if you
inadvertently put your hand on a flame hot stove you would be
burned.
In other words fire is not good or bad in and of itself - it is just an
element. This is the attitude we must have with the stars. The
wandering stars each have their own effect.
In this chapter I am going to cover all scriptural references to
astrology. Every scripture used to try and invalidate the ancient
and wise sciences of the stars (astrology) will be addressed. There
is also a list of scriptures validating the use of the knowledge of
the stars. (23 Pages)
