Life In Moscow; Communism and Now

Twenty-eight short stories depict life in Moscow, USSR, in the mid-1980s, focusing on various aspects of everyday life drawn from the author’s own experience. Each story is narrated in a personal style and concludes with a scientific update on how the situation has evolved over the past 25 years, i.e., to about 2010. These updates highlight the domestic and international rise of former true communists—now members of the "United Russia" party—and their overwhelming drive for personal wealth acquisition, which has become the dominant principle of both domestic and foreign policy.
