"A TRAIL FOR ALL SEASONS: Wisconsin's Ice Age Trail, in Words and Pictures" pairs photographs taken over the course of a full year with quotations and poems. The photographs of the Ice Age Trail, a National Scenic Trail located completely within the State of Wisconsin, are presented in chronological order according to the seasons: starting with Spring and continuing through Summer, Fall, and finally Winter, the changing nature and atmosphere of the trail are graphically depicted. Wisconsin's forests, streams, rivers, and wetlands are prominently featured in the images, along with some of its animals and insects. Quotes from philosophers and naturalists, as well as poems from both the old masters and modern poets are coupled with each photograph. Also included are three collages showing scenes photographed in each season.
