Founded in the early 1830’s by Philadelphia jeweler Matthais Baldwin, the Baldwin Locomotive Works built a huge number of steam locomotives before ceasing production in 1949. In 1921, the company began publishing a "Baldwin Locomotives" magazine to promote their products.
This reprinted issue, from October 1929, includes articles about the Newfoundland Railway, Texas and Pacific Railway, the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, and the latest Baldwin products and rebuilds.
