Danteggiare

A book cataloging translations into English, of the first tercet of Dante's Inferno from 1591–2021. To be included in the book, the passage had to refer to at least two of the three elements in that opening tercet: halfway through life, dark woods, and lost path. The book includes the translations, a bibliography, a chronological list of works, odds & ends (unverified tercets, unpublished manuscripts, the Ugolino episode – Inferno, Canto 33, and miscellanea), and an index of translations.
