THE GENERATIONS AND LINEAGES OF THE UMUOKWARA CLAN OF AMANASAA, UMUCHU

ByBenedict Nnolim

This book outlines the generations, lineages and family linkages of the members of the Umuokwara clan of Amanasaa (seven houses), Umuchu in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State of Nigeria, from the 14th century, A.D. to date. The Umuokwara clan is one of the four clans (the others are Ezeemere, Akpadoro and Anokwasa) of one (Umeiro or Umuvuiro) of the four villages (houses) of Amanasaa, known as Imenano (four pregnancies). The other three pregnancies are Umeogu (Umuvuogu), Ojogwo (Umuojogwo) and Ojum (Umuojum). Three villages, Ogu, Osete and Amihe make up the seven houses. Unlike many books on African family trees, in which only the male descendants are reported, this book lists every member of the clan, male or female, as well as their wives, husbands and children.
