Anwas, Son of Adam

This small but seminal volume engages with the foundations of Western literature by recasting the Garden of Eden myth from a story about disobedience to one of voluntary and necessary self-actualization. Meet Anwas, the firstborn son of Adam and Eve, born at the moment the parents stepped from Paradise into the wilderness. Growing up in an imperfect world, Anwas learns how this imperfection allows humans to participate in creation, and become gods in their own right. Concentrating his creative power leads Anwas down a road of self-mastery, until the moment he decides to make a world of his own, based entirely on his own will. However, in order to be truly free, he must pay back his parents for bringing him into the world. And while Adam asks only that Anwas help his siblings by bettering their lives in the world, what Eve wishes from her son is grandchildren. Thus Anwas finds a mate, and starts a dynasty that will come to shape the history of humankind.
