The Blind African African Slave, Or Memoirs of Boyrereau Brinch Nicknamed Jeffrey Brace

ByBenjamin F Prentiss

In 1810 Benjamin Prentiss sat down with his former slave, who was going blind. He wanted to hear his story. The man Boyrereau Brinch, nicknamed Jeffrey Brace tells him of his homeland, the animals, the language, his family and his travels to Ethiopia. He tells of his despise for slavery and gives religious quotes in defence of his stance against slavery. The story journeys through his memories and his recollections of his childhood and how his life developed. A sad story in American history, written over 200 years ago and republished here for the first time for a new generation to be able to read. Our history should not be forgotten. This is a must read for anyone who loves history or wants to learn more about our past that is slowly being erased from our textbooks.
