On July 2nd, Srila Gurudeva spoke on how we should tolerate everything that happens to us, knowing that they are reactions to our own past activities. He said, “We should see that ‘anything good that is coming is for my benefit. Krsna has arranged for this.’ And if any problem comes, what should we think? ‘Oh, certainly there is something good here for me. Krsna has sent this problem.’ So we will have to think and reconcile everything that ‘Krsna has arranged this.’ Bhunjana evatma-krtam vipakam—all troubles, miseries, sorrows, suffering, problems, why are they coming? Not because Krsna is giving these things. But what you have done in the past, the result of those activities are coming to you. Why? To purify you. This is the arrangement of Krsna that what actions you will do, reactions must come and you will have to taste these results.
“No one is guilty except you. Krsna is also not responsible for all these things. Who is responsible? We should think, ‘Myself. What activities I have done, I am responsible for the results.’ Thinking like so, we can be happy always, even in the midst of so many lakhs and lakhs problems. While thinking like so he is also doing pranama. Hrd-vag-vapurbhir vidadhan namas te—‘O Krsna, You have sent all the results of my past activities to purify me.’ And high class devotees will think that ‘O Krsna, You are very tricky. By this You want to glorify me and set an example. You are so merciful.’ Always doing pranama to Krsna.”
