Where was Svamiji doing bhajana? In Rupa Gosvami’s bhajana-sthali. What is the meaning of this? He was a rupanuga Vaisnava. What is the meaning of rupanuga? I think that very rare persons are knowing this. What is rupanuga? Can anyone say? What is the meaning? Unnatojjvala-rasam sva-bhakti-sriyam (CC, Adi- lila 1.4). What is ‘sri’ here? The beauty of the mood of Srimati Radhika. What is that? The mood of Rupa Manjari, the mood of Rupa Gosvami in his siddha-deha, in his spiritual form. It is how Rupa Gosvami in his siddha-deha is serving Radha-Krsna conjugal, especially leaning towards serving Srimati Radharani.
Radha should be happy, whether Krsna is happy or not. This is the mood of Rupa Gosvami. He will clap if Srimati Radhika will defeat Krsna. And if Srimati Radhika is suffering so much in a separation mood, he will feel separation. This is rupanuga. All rupanuga Vaisnavas are raganuga but all raganuga Vaisnavas are not rupanuga. Srila Raghunatha dasa Gosvami, Jiva Gosvami, even Sanatana Gosvami has admitted that, “I am rupanuga.” Even though he was the Guru of Rupa Gosvami and his elder brother, he used to honor Rupa Gosvami like his Guru. So your Prabhupada, my siksa guru, he was rupanuga. This is really the glory of Svamiji. That is why he went there to the samadhi of Rupa Gosvami and he realized all these things. This is the real glory of Svamiji, your Gurudeva.”
