Welfarism Anew? Territorial Politics and the genesis of state-aided housing in Britain.

This book researches the genesis of state-aided housing in Briatin, commonly known as 'council housing'. It focuses on three case studies in Blackburn, Preston and Wigan and examines cenral / local government relationships in policy implementation of consensual and conflictual relationships. The book argues that the introduction of state-aided housing policy was the birth of what we term 'The Welfare State' in Britain.
