The Barrier of Inanna centers on the archaeological site Godin Tepe, situated in Western Iran. The discovery of hundreds of clay sling bullets strongly indicates that this site served as a military fort. Additionally, the dating of Oval Enclosure VI:1 to around 3000 BC aligns well with the Uruk/Aratta conflict involving Enmerkar (possibly identified with Nimrod) and Lugalbanda. This evidence supports the notion that Godin Tepe is a plausible candidate for the historical location of Aratta.
