Zephyr

Zephyr

ByBridgette B Graham

The world was too fragile. It existed as if it was nothing more than a slight wind, drifting now and gone tomorrow, the effects of which was barely noticeable in the present and entirely forgotten tomorrow. Was that not the nature of humanity? she wondered. Was that not such a precise reflection of the lives of man, bothered and occupied with his existence as if he would live forever, and then disregarded in the morning when his life seized to exist? The truth was that if Ann had managed to destroy everything, and man managed to cast himself into war and destroyed himself – wiped himself from the face of this earth – nothing would change. The world would continue to spin, and evolution would continue to shape into existence the next form of consciousness and all of this would probably happen again.
