Samhain 2013 This is the time in the circle of the year when we pause to look both back and ahead.  We cast our minds back over the past year to recall the lessons, losses, surprises and gifts for which we are grateful; and ahead to the quiet time of listening, planting seeds deep in the dark and waiting.  This is the time to honor the ancestors, attend to the soul and bury what has died . . . and to remember. Rilke’s phrase “deep with the winds of homecoming” evokes the mood of autumn, when the wind shifts our outward reality and calls our spirits back to the roots.  It is in this spirit that we offer these gifts of words to you.  The best writing will serve as an invitation to your own soul, awakening the desire to come home to yourself and find expression for the beauty, truths and questions you find there.   May it be so.
