26 art, design and photography students plus one amazing teacher from the Illinois Institute of Art-Schaumburg. We came together in a class and decided a boring magazine project just wasn’t for us. So we decided to put on an art show in Chicago instead. Our Show Concept: GroupThink. What have we done in order to follow along with what we think is the norm? More importantly, what haven’t we done and what do we blissfully ignore? Our show invites you to see what groupthink causes and what it prevents. Each of us found something that we feel has to do with isolation, groupthink or a combination of the two. We took our individual concepts and worked them into physical art pieces that we felt others might appreciate. We worked together to fundraise all the money needed to book the gallery and set-up the show. It was a great success! The gallery was packed with people all night, and while no official count was ever taken, at least 1,000 brochures were handed out.
