Bruce A. Barker is President of Dream Home Consultants, LLC., a building inspection, expert witness, and consulting firm. He has built or inspected more than 3,000 homes during his 34 years in the construction and building inspection professions. Mr. Barker is a Residential Combination Inspector, certified by the International Code Council. He is also a licensed contractor and a licensed home inspector in multiple states. Mr. Barker is a nationally-known instructor. He teaches contractors and home inspectors about a variety of construction and inspection related topics. Mr. Barker is a member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). He serves as the Society's 2021 President, after service as Treasurer, and as a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Barker served as chairman of the Society’s national Standards of Practice Committee. As Standards Committee chairman he helped develop the ASHI standards for predrywall, deck, and swimming pool inspections Mr. Barker’s books include the National Home Inspector Examination study guides, Everybody’s Building Code, and Black & Decker Codes for Homeowners.
