A corporate worker living an average and simple life while dating average girls is introduced to a life of labels, status symbols and the illusions of being wealthy, after accepting an expatriate position in London and Rome.
While at first in awe of his new life, company luxury cars and expense accounts, Johnny Darino finds that most people, and in particular, girls, like him for what they think of him while in his expat mode. He wonders if they would still like him if the expat perks were not with him. He devises 'life trappings' to filter out the girls who like him for his perceived illusion of being wealthy, before meeting the one girl who is not swayed by the illusions of his wealth.
