Shine: A Collection of Short Stories

There are three main stories to this piece as well as one extra story that highlights magical themes and the adventure of someone in their youth. Seeing the world as a fairy tale, but especially through already wondrous and curious eyes creates and even more special story for reading. The first piece in this anthology follows two best friends, Natasha and Rebekah, who end up having a falling out. Ever since kindergarten they’ve been inseparable, always knotted together, one was never seen without the other. That is, until the middle of junior year when the two get into an aggravated argument over their friendship. The second story follows a young woman working for her local police department as an investigator. One morning, while on the job, she enters a house on the suspicion of a break in and abduction/possible homicide. There, what she uncovers will haunt you forever. The final story is less of a story and more of what the title suggests; a rainstorm of thoughts and feelings. Sharing personal experiences along with insight on the relationship between a teenage girl, her parents, other family members, peers, and friendships.
