Runaround Sue

In Runaround Sue, we meet the detective team from the Lancashire borough of Weaverton for the second time. This time, we follow the team led by Detective Inspector Tom Pollard, ably assisted by DS Sam Watson and DC Jill Crawford, as they struggle to bring Hal, a friend of the murdered Susan Garside. Susan is a middle distance runner, as well as a drug runner and it takes all the team's perspicacity and strength of purpose to bring this particularly vicious killer to justice. All this comes at no small cost to themselves as, by the end, one of them is left hanging on to life by a thread.
