For Unto Us a Child Is Born

This is a story of a young virgin woman, betrothed to a young man. An angel from God is sent to her, to tell her that she will bear a child, who will be of great importance to God’s fulfilment of the act of salvation to humanity. She is troubled by the words of the angel and the greetings accorded to her, and questions how that could be for she is a virgin. But, then, the angel tells her “The holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy - the Son of God.” The angel goes ahead in telling her that her relative, in her old age, has also conceived a child and that it was the sixth month with her, who was called barren. He tells her this, to give an assurance that; “With God, nothing was impossible” Then the young virgin woman says to the angel, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word. “And the angel departed from her
