
This NSF funded study conducted a systematic and empirical (both quantitative and qualitative) comparison of the cultures in engineering departments and colleges that have female undergraduate graduation rates above and below the
national average. We define culture as the attitudes, values, beliefs, and practices of institutional leaders, faculty, and students. Practices include pedagogy, curriculum,and informal and formal policies.
