Carrie Heller, M.S.W. is a Professional Trapeze Artist as well as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist. Over the past 3+ decades, she has trained countless students and teachers using this manual. Carrie began teaching Circus Arts in Atlanta in 1988, which evolved into Atlanta's first Circus Arts School. In 1989 she became the Director of Clinical Services at the Bridge; it was at this juncture that Carrie began to see the benefits of Circus Arts in therapy. In 1993 she founded the popular Atlanta Circus Camp and in 2006 the Circus Arts Institute. At the Circus Arts Institute, Carrie conducts Circus Arts Therapy® groups for neurodiverse children and teens and she runs Typical and Adaptive Aerial Teacher Trainings using this manual.
