Concerto for Viola and Orchestra " Equinox - A Seekers Journey"

ByCary Belling

Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
The "Concerto for Viola and Orchestra" is based on a "Siddhartha” like narrative where the viola plays the role of an individual who is learning to live with his or her own demons of fear and self-doubt. The piece is designed to showcase the virtuosity and soulfulness of the viola, evoke a sense of mystery, and yet retain an intelligible clarity. Transparent orchestration allows for the viola to be heard regardless of it's tessitura. The orchestration is standard 3 2 2 2 - 4 3 3 - hp - str - perc. - cymbalom or hammer dulcimer. Orchestral parts and a viola and piano transcription are available from Cary Belling Music, Pasadena, CA. (626-797-7664).This piece is registered in the Library of Congress.
