We would like to warmly welcome you to this book of short stories! You’ve found yourself here through some stroke of luck, and it’s a great thing. This book sprouted from a class project that asked each member of our class to write two short stories. One story had to be written from the “mind” of a teenager, and the other had to have a narrative driven by photographs that each student took while walking around the Mission District in San Francisco. Every student then chose one of these stories to be published into this collection. There are stories that range from people living in vents to others living in computer simulations; from organ selling and chapped skin, to chronic liars. It’s witty, it's gory, it’s unmistakably funny, and it’s got plenty of legumes! So without further ado, we present to you, A Bouquet of Legumes by the 8th grade class of 2022!
